Bwindi Impenetrable National Park biodiversity home hosting a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna with close to half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) population. As its name suggests, it is a thick forest and vegetation which is very difficult to penetrate even on foot.
Its serene beauty creates a marvellous feeling and, walking in the forest being so close to nature and observing plenty of forest wildlife. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famous for its endangered Mountain Gorillas and other primates that will turn the destination into a distinctive one.
There are four different tracking points for those who want to track gorillas. Each Mountain Gorilla family can be visited once a day for not more than an hour and, only eight individuals from 16 years of age are permitted to interact with the Mountain Gorilla family per day.
Besides endangered Mountain Gorillas tracking, visitors will immerse themselves in mesmerizing activities such as Bird watching, Cultural experience, Mountain Hiking, Mountain biking, Community walks.
Culture is yet another unmissable encounter associated with the destination. The cultural experiences will expose you to Batwa people who still practice ancient traditions and customs, which form part of their rich culture.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a must-visit destination in Uganda covering up to 331 sq km with varying vegetation from Forest covers, Bamboo, and Shrubs. For the ultimate experience for anyone who chooses to trek the mountain gorillas or search for birds, butterflies, or shrubs, you need to be in good physical condition to go up and down the terrain. It lies at an altitude between 1,160m-2,607m above sea level in Western region of Uganda.
